MotorCycleTours

OK Guys this is all about having fun and seeing a lot of this beautiful countryside.

A lot of people say that 'we're gunna do that one day' now here is your chance with someone that knows a lot of great spots to visit.

Our Motorcycle Tours cover a lot of countryside from:

We try and stop at unique locations, eg: the back of the Black Stump,

to add to your experiences of our great outdoors.

We try to stay on the tar for the majority of our trips but sometimes this can not be avoided.

We get the roads rated before each trip and we have a lot of local knowledge on road conditions to make your trip safe.

During our trips you can see the outback in its beauty, the Wildlife, Sleep in unique accommodation from converted shearer's quarters, to purpose built cabins, Unique Hotels like at Long Flat, and the Rabbit Trap Hotel.

We call in at locations such as Broken Hill Mine and read about its history; Pro Hart's Gallery, and his unique art, and, check out Jack Absalom's paintings, all this and the famous Silverton Pub all in The Silver City area.

Or, on Phillip Island experience the nightly walk of the Penguins, visit the Vietnam War Museum, local chocolate factory and the Moto GP or World Superbikes, depending on the time of year.

We cater for groups up to 15 people Singles and couples are welcome. And in a 5 Day, 7 Day or 10 Day trips depending on how much you wish to see and do along the way.

All these rides are possible on a late model 250cc bike in good condition, but a 400cc or bigger would handle the mileage better.

Your bike needs to have just been serviced to be reliable, roadworthy and have good tread, capable of doing the trip.

Each journey you will be informed of the distance you will be travelling and what is required to bring with you.

To have roadside assist and insurance is a must- you do not know when it may come in handy.

Also to be in an Ambulance fund is a good idea and will save you heaps if you need them.

You will be travelling on some of the best country roads in the country, such as Thunder bolts, The Oxley, The Golden Highway, The Monaro Highway, The Snowy Mountains Highway, The Bylong Valley Way, The Omeo Highway, and the Alpine Road to name only some of what you will experience.

Safety is a priority. We all can have a safe experience riding on or near the speed limits and always to suit the road conditions, the weather and traffic flow. Our trips are designed to suit all levels of experience and ability.

Summer Blood Challenge Fortnightly Update 06/01/10   An incredible 13,167 lives have been saved so far in this year’s Summer Blood Challenge. Now 5 weeks into the 09/10 challenge, Motorcyclists, Police and their supporters have been giving up their holiday time to take part in this friendly competition and give life’s best gift.     Support across the state has been fantastic with outstanding collections at the Sydney Metro Large Mobile service which has collected 981 donations for the challenge.   Today’s tally sees the Police holding the lead with 2596 donations and the Motorcyclists with 1793 all together totalling 4389 donations.   Media coverage has highlighted excellent support from motorcycle groups on the Central Coast and Hunter area.
A Christmas email from Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione highlighting the need for blood during the holiday period to NSW Police is likely to have contributed greatly to the significant number of Police donations over Christmas.   The Blood Service thanks its supporters for supporting the NSW/ACT 2009/2010 Summer Blood Challenge.   If you require and further information please contact us at the details below: Campaign: Aletheia Hunn ahunn@arcbs.redcross.org.au Media: Lisa Borges lborges@arcbs.redcross.org.au     Aletheia Hunn NSW/ACT Marketing Coordinator Australian Red Cross Blood Service Level 4, 153 I Clarence Street I Sydney I NSW I 2000   Phone: 02 9229 4023    Do something special. Supporting the patients head and shoulders and keeping them warm and keeping them warm

while assessing the level of injuries.

This First Aid course was purposely designed and written by Eddie Furnell and put together for a large group of Harley Davidson owners about 100 strong that were going to the USA for the Hundredth anniversary rally. They were of the opinion that such a large group could possibly meet with misfortune and require first aid in a strange country.

So the Advanced Motor Cycle First Aid Course was born.

The insert below is written by Eddie Furnell.

The St John MC First Aid course originated in 2000 when Tim King from North Sydney HOG approached me to see if we could put together a course for riders as he was taking a group of Harley owners to America for the 100 anniversary of Harleys being made.

Apart from the course we also put together a first aid kit for every rider and arranged for them to have a penthrane inhaler and training on how to administer them each for them to take in case they were in an isolated area and an accident happened.   This had for a long time been a project I had wanted to do so I approached the Principal Training Officer at that time for St John a Mr Alan Stewart and together we put together the one day program.   In 2003-4 I spoke to some members from the national board of Ulysses and they took a proposal to the national board and it was agreed that any member of Ulysses who did the course would be compensated to the tune of 50% of the course fee.   I have promoted the course and run the course by word of mouth and some small advertising over the past 9 years and run all but one of the courses in NSW.

The course has been run I believe in a few of the other states but how many and which states I am not sure apart from Western Aust as I received a call asking me for some advice on how I ran the course and that was in 2006-7.   The course has also been promoted in a number of motorcycle magazines including "Australian Motorcycle" and web sites over the years.   The other information I heard on an story on the ABC a month or so ago was the concern that there has been a 40% increase in NSW alone in Scooter sales due to the price of fuel and commuter issues etc so that is another reason we should be promoting the course as it is well known that scooter riders rarely wear protective clothing or leathers and also almost all have the cheapest helmets etc and are the most at risk of serious injury when they do come off and also statistically more likely to have an accident.

I really believe that we need to have every motorcycle retailer made aware of the course and have them promote it to every sale of every bike or scooter   I also believe we need to approach all the state governments with a plan to have it compulsory to have every rider when they either seek a motorcycle license or renew their license that they need to have a MC First Aid Certificate.

The reasoning being that as most riders travel in groups there for at every accident scene there will be a qualified person to assist any injured rider also this will place more qualified First Aider's in more Australian house holds.   In conclusion I sincerely thank you for your assistance in promoting the course and for being so proactive in assisting St John in  promoting the course. I wish I was able to attend the conference in WA however I know you will do a sterling job in speaking on our behalf.   In conclusion if I can be of any further assistance just let me know.

                    Cheers   Eddie Furnell eddiefurnell@ozemail.com.au Ph 0408 410 667

             ********To all our Wonderful  Customers,********

Most people ride motorcycles for one reason or another, Here is three reasons why people start. Cheaper Transport for those new to Driving, Alternative transport to having the second car and saving Money, And finally for those Returning to Motorcycles after a long break.

These three reasons are all good, But if you would Like to reap the benefits that you and your bike are capable of, check out your local Motor Cycle Clubs. They all have a different spin on what motorcycling is all about ,weather it be Racing, Touring, or just going for a run out to Wollombi. So check them out and make some new friends, If the first lot you meet   are not to your liking do some more research there are a lot of nice people out there for you to meet.
